the "New" BackRiderTM belt
The BackRiderTM belt is a 5 point motorcycle riding harness that attaches your child to you, the rider. Available in two (2) adult waist riding sizes:
Regular size: 30" to 44" or Large size: 44" to 57"
We would like to thank the many customers & motorcycle retailers who stopped by our display booth at both the Edmonton & Calgary Motorcycle Shows and purchased our BackRiderTM belts. We were also very pleased to hear the large amount of positive comments & interest regarding our new BackRiderTM belt product and it's related features, thank you all for your comments.
The BackRiderTM belt product has now successfully passed a professional safety engineering test .
Tests were conducted by OnSpex, a product evaluation testing division of the CSA Group. The Onspex test lab is located in Ohio, USA.
Here are some of the test results for the BackRiderTM :
Design Safety
This test ensured that the product was designed and manufactured in such a way that all components with which the child or rider come into contact with do not cause injuries during normal use, or when used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Comments: Product meets all test requirements.

Static Load Test
The weight requirement of the child portion of the harness was tested. To do this test a center weight was used that was equal to three times the manufacturer’s maximum recommended weight in the seat area of the frame child carrier. Weight was then gradually applied within a 5 second period and was maintained for an additional 1 minute. The test ensured that the carrier does not create a hazardous condition, such as not supporting the test weight, frame, fasteners or seams separating, when tested. The test also ensures that the buckles on the straps do not slip more than 1".
Comments: The product passed the test with total of 300 lbs used for the test and with only 1/16” slippage of the strap in the buckles (well below the 1" requirement for this test!).

Cycle Test - Buckles
All buckles were tested by machines that opened & closed them 500 times.
Comments: Product buckles worked as intended successfully for all 500 times during the test.

Proof Load Test - Waist Attachment
A test was perfomred to determine the force required to separate the adult belt portion of the sample from the child restraint portion of the sample if they they were to be pulled apart. The test results were determined using a tensile machine set at 50mm per minute.
Comments: The product passed with a force load of up to 235.25 Lbs used between the two portions before they saparated.

Proof Load Test - Harness
A tensile test was performed on the child belt portion of the harness to determine how much weight the child restraint portion of the product can acutally hold.
Comments: 474.17 Lbs. of force was used for this test. This means the harness held "4 times" the manufactuer's recommended child weight maximum of 100 lbs!

Attachment Points
A tensile test was performed on the attachment points of the belt to see how much weight the points of the product that are attached with sewing thread.
Comments: All attachment portions of the belt held up to 400.74 Lbs. of force before separating!
